Aegis Leeds North has been a fantastic experience for my daughter who is 8 but started when 5. It’s more than a martial arts class it builds confidence, street smarts and the classes are run by expert martial arts teachers who are friendly, positive and encouraging. Would highly recommend it to adults and kids alike if you want to learn martial arts with an encouraging method and makes learning memorable.
Joining this gym for boxing was one of the best decisions I've made! Starting from zero knowledge, I've grown to absolutely love it over the past two years. The coaches are exceptional, and the classes are both challenging and rewarding. The welcoming atmosphere makes it easy to feel at home and motivated to push yourself. Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to dive into boxing or take their skills to the next level!
My kids have trained at Griphouse Academy for 2 years now. The kids classes are brilliant and the coaching is excellent. There’s a great vibe about the kids squad and they love helping each other and working together. My oldest is 9 and competes regularly. The coaching at Griphouse has allowed him to compete in BJJ at national and international level.
Great training to be honest but stringent contractual laws, not suitable for students or more. The trainers were friendly, warm, and good at their job, truly. However, you have to give 2 or months cancellation notice if you want to quit, depending on your membership, which is not reasonable or viable for everyone, such as me who had to leave due to a new job in London. I am still paying for a service I'm not using because I am contractually obligated. The worst bit is, they can set this contractual obligation to any month as they see fit. It can be 1 or 2 months prior notice, but you need to commit either 1 month, 6 months, or 12 months depending on your contract. I've attached an image showing the memberships as the website doesn't have them on there, probably indicating price changes. This shows that the cancellation period is not pertinent to their business needs, what's more important is a steady cashflow. It is just a way to grab more money from those naive to read contracts or have unexpected surprise circumstances arise. I can't see another reason to do this beside it being a money grab. You write it on a paper the cancellation period and can set it to whatever you want. Won't go back again as its business above all else and there are better alternatives without stringent contracts. Many other gyms teach as they do. If you are a young naive person, probably a student, it matters very important who your first coaches are. Explore the market first. Don't get tied up with difficult unnecessary contracts.
Great Martial Art school! My daughter truly enjoys coming and training here. She always gets support and advice she needs to make progress and really likes everyone in her group. Simon is fantastic instructor and he tries his best to meet everyone's needs. I would recommend Spirit Martial Arts to all - children and adults. Keep up the hard work!
Since starting with this club it has felt welcoming from day 1. Kevin and Michael have been absolutely brilliant. Obviously you have different levels of experience and age ranges however everything is catered for, no-one will ever be expected to do something they are uncomfortable with. Standards are high, and the club expects hard work and effort, however its always to your level and never with people around you. Something we were told on day 1 too to help anyone settle in. I was part of a club many years ago, however wish it had been with this one. Ive not been disappointed and look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Great bunch of people to train with and Kevin and Michael make sure its enjoyable!!
I am usually anxious in new environments especially when it comes to sports and fitness, but working with the trainers Mark and Laura I feel at home. It's a friendly environment where you can learn not only how to defend yourself, but also to gain confidence in your physical abilities while keeping fit. Definitely recommend their services.
I am in my 40's and have been training with Kuk Sool Won in Edinburgh for nearly 5 years. It's an extremely well run school, with classes of mixed age, gender and ability but all very disciplined and focused on getting fit, flexible, and helping each other improve technically. Kuk Sool as a style is very varied - punches, kicks, joint locks, throws, forms, even weapons as you progress. So you'll never get bored. If you're looking for a martial art for yourself or your kids, or as an alternative to the gym, I can't remember KSW Edinburgh enough.
My son has been attending this club for 6 years. He was struggling to concentrate at school and the helpful and patient instructors have really helped him to focus and stay on task. My daughter joined 2 years ago and also absolutely loves it. My son has qualified as a black belt and we have been so impressed by the level of skill and fitness that they both have reached.
Forget your jab-cross-hook or your judo chops , if you wanna learn how to defend yourself or even train for sport, this is the club for you! Guru George has created a total combat fighting system that is both unique and deadly. The club is also full of the best bunch of students you'll ever find. I have been training at Temple Martial Arts, Birmingham branch for under a year. I would highly recommend this club especially my coach, Keele! Keele is very talented and pushes his students, giving you confidence. I was nervous at the start but Keele never gave up on me and kept pushing me and I am thankful to Keele that so far I’ve been passing my grades and it’s only cause of my coach. A good coach makes a huge difference to your experience and attaining the skill you acquire. I would highly recommend this club and thank you to Keele for been an inspiring coach who never gives up on his students.

I've been going to Mike's classes for four months now. Mike is an incredibly welcoming trainer. Every class I've learned something new. Between sparing sessions and technical training we also do a lot of cardio. From day one it's a very familiar atmosphere. I highly recommend giving this a try!

I have been going to black widow since august, to be honest its way better than any others the intensity and level of connectivity to begginers is so amazing. coaches will make sure to make you a beast no matter what the obstical is.

*Training here is one of the best decisions I've made* Personally, I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and came to the sport as a complete beginner. I had no previous marital arts experience and wasn't particularly sporty but since joining I have had a newfound discipline and love for BJJ. As a woman training in a male dominated sport, I cannot say how reassuring it is to train in a safe environment where Coaches and Assistant Coaches put your physical and emotional safety as a priority. The standard set by coaches here is high. However, don't let that put you off- use it as an opportunity to set your own standards higher. Coaches here focus on ensuring the fundamentals are perfected and that you're the best you can be. We recently had 8x world champion Michelle Nicolini coach at the gym for 2 months and multiple world champions have come to run seminars. Everyone at the gym is super friendly- I personally have made lifelong friends at LFF. I come to the gym from over an hour away but it's my training partners and the coaches that make it worth the journey. OSS

Xen-Do School of Martial Arts has been helping me improve my confidence, self-discipline, and determination to succeed. I would always feel good whenever I attend training classes and leaving the dojo inspired and feeling good. I always share this great experience with my family and friends, and they are so happy to see me in this active sport.
