Yakinori's customer reviews analysis

Yakinori - Selly Oak generally maintains a positive company reputation, with a focus on delivering high-quality Japanese cuisine that resonates well with its clientele. The majority of customer reviews reflect satisfaction with the food's flavor and quality, specifically highlighting dishes such as sushi, tempura prawns, poke bowls, and bento boxes. Service is frequently mentioned as prompt and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. However, some inconsistencies are noted, for instance, in takeaway or delivery services, where issues like packaging and food quality upon arrival have led to dissatisfaction. While the act of charity via an added donation has been received with mixed feelings, it is the communication regarding the surcharge rather than the goodwill gesture itself that has been brought into question. Limited seating and parking have also been pointed out as minor detriments to the overall experience.

Positive Feedback

Yakinori - Selly Oak stands out for its delicious and authentic Japanese cuisine, which is a recurring theme in the positive feedback. Many customers are impressed by the variety and taste of the food, specifically citing the bento boxes, sushi, chicken katsu tacos, and teriyaki duck baobuns as highlights. The customer service provided by staff members like Klara, Adrita, and Riya is often described as attentive and hospitable, contributing to the restaurant's favorable reputation. Additionally, the establishment's suitability for families and provision of vegetarian options has been commended. Offers like student discounts also enhance the dining experience, making it more accessible to a wider audience.

Concerns and Threads

While Yakinori - Selly Oak excels in many areas, particular aspects of customer experience have room for improvement. The compulsory charity donation added to the bill has garnered criticism for the lack of prior communication and customer choice. Some reviews have pointed out the limited seating and parking availability which can affect convenience and comfort. Experiences with delivery services have been mixed, with some customers facing issues with food packaging and the handling of the food during delivery leading to unfortunate incidents. On the culinary front, isolated feedback indicates that certain dishes, such as the aubergine & tofu dish or the katsu curry, did not meet the taste expectations of some patrons.

Our first visit to Yakinori, we went upon recommendation. Delicious Japanese food, top class service and a real authentic vibe about the restaurant itself. I dined with my family and really enjoyed all of the food. We ordered sushi, tempura prawns, bento box and beef omakase, all were served promptly and were very tasty. We also had some amazing starters that I'd never tried before - Chicken Katsu Tacos, these were wow! My kids loved all of it as well as the bubble tea. Klara served us and was very attentive and hospitable in her service. I would highly recommend a visit to Yakinori for anyone who loves Japanese food! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options through the menu. Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly.

Love Yakinori - anytime my boyfriend comes to visit he insists on going! The poke bowls are amazing!!! Sides are great too. I did have an aubergine & tofu dish another time I went with friends though and I have to say I wasn’t as impressed - it may just be my personal preference but I found it to be quite tasteless. The staff have always been helpful too :)
