The Midtown Group's customer reviews analysis

Analysis of the customer reviews for The Midtown Group paints a mixed picture regarding company reputation and customer experience. A recurring theme is the dichotomy between employees who have had positive interactions, particularly with individuals like Dave, Erica, and SAMU, and those who have faced significant challenges, such as unprofessionalism and lack of support from management. While some reviewers highlight the benefits of flexible work hours, opportunities for professional development, and fair pay, there is a contrasting thread of dissatisfaction regarding recruiter responsiveness, perceived negligence regarding employee welfare, specifically in the instance involving the DC Lottery assignment, and compensation not meeting industry standards. It is noteworthy that some employees commend the company for offering projects that align with personal values and for providing straightforward communication on assignments. Nevertheless, the allegations of unaddressed harassment and lack of follow-up from recruiters suggest areas that could significantly impact the firm’s reputation and warrant further investigation and potential improvement.

Positive Feedback

Positive experiences with The Midtown Group are highlighted by personalized commendations of the management team and certain staff members. Employees cite Dave as transparent and genuinely concerned for their well-being, while others praise Erica for her outstanding recruitment efforts, including her attentiveness, integrity, and communication skills. The flexibility in work hours is valued for contributing to a healthy work-life balance, and the company is recognized for being consistent and straightforward in its handling of assignments, which has led to a positive experience for some employees. The uplifting impact of the firm's projects on communities and individuals is also lauded, with employees taking pride in their work and the recognition they receive from the beneficiaries of their services.

Concerns and Threads

The Midtown Group faces criticism from employees that predominantly centers around professionalism, employee support, and recruitment processes. The most severe allegation involves a report of harassment and disrespect at the DC Lottery, where the employee felt that their concerns were not appropriately addressed and management protection seemed to favor the client over the employee. Additionally, there are reports of frustrating experiences with recruitment, highlighting insufficient follow-up and lack of communication post-resume submission. Compensation below industry standards is mentioned as demotivating, and claims of managers being rude and inconsiderate towards staff in some locations add to the negative experiences. These issues suggest potential systemic shortcomings within the company's operational and HR practices, which could damage the firm's reputation if not addressed.

Was sent to work at the DC Lottery headquarters As an event coordinator. I’ve never in my life experienced such unprofessionalism on a job. I was harassed and disrespected countless times for two months. I reported the issue to my supervisor on site on more than one occasion with email receipts to match; just letting him know of the employee who was very rude and disorderly when it came to his approach to me in person and on emails and Team Messages. I was told by the supervisor verbatim “that’s just him, take it with a grain of salt”. I was hired through The midtown group and upon finding out what I experienced they asked me why didn’t I contact them first. I let them know, I thought by contacting someone who was actually on site that was the best thing to do; they acted like they understood my approach but then basically stopped responding in reference to next steps. If you’re thinking of working for DC Lottery, think again! Ever since the pandemic, the staff clearly got used to not working. Nobody’s does anything in that office and the people with seniority treat new employees like trash. I asked midtown if I could leave a review about my experience and was told please don’t leave a review because DC Lottery is their client. I was also told that since I didn’t let them know my concerns before leaving the DC Lottery, due to feeling harassed that they wouldn’t work me again. That’s absurd because you’re protecting your client and not your representatives. Disgusting!!!

My short time with The Midtown Group has been exceptional! The management team (especially Dave), is transparent, approachable, and conveys a genuine concern for the employees' well-being and professional development. My colleges are phenomenal and the flexible work hours gives me a healthy balance between my professional and personal life.

DO NOT BOTHER SENDING YOUR RESUME. After sending in your resume, there is little to no follow up from the recruiter. At this point , I don’t have any reason to believe Charlie ever forwarded my resume to the vacancy I was interested in. And it seemed he had very little interest in communication after receiving a copy of my resume Perhaps, they are only interested in hoarding and farming resumes.
