Sticks N Sushi's customer reviews analysis

Sticks'n'Sushi Covent Garden has a mixed reputation based on recent customer reviews. While there are positive comments regarding the food and some instances of excellent service, recurring issues pertaining to service inefficiency and the overly crowded atmosphere somewhat mar the overall customer experience. Customers appreciate the quality and presentation of the sushi and seem satisfied with the value for money, especially when it comes to platters like 'Carpe Diem' that allow for a diverse dining experience. However, the restaurant’s ambiance is repeatedly described as too busy and loud, which detracts from the expected dining experience. The problems with service are noticeable, with several reviews highlighting long wait times for drinks, difficulty in attracting the attention of staff, and an inconsistency in service as the restaurant gets busier. The mentioned issues collectively affect the company’s reputation, hinting at a potential need for operational improvements, especially during peak hours.

Positive Feedback

The key positive aspects from customer feedback focus on the food quality and the accommodating nature of the restaurant staff in certain instances. The food at Sticks'n'Sushi Covent Garden is frequently lauded, with special mentions of delicious flavors, variety, and aesthetically pleasing presentation. Specific items like 'Kani Korokke,' tuna tartare bites, and the 'Carpe Diem' platter are highlighted for their taste and value. Additionally, some customers shared experiences of efficient service and commendable efforts by staff to meet seating requests despite the crowded setting. There are also positive references to the knowledgeable staff regarding menu items and allergies, with flexibility highlighted in customizing set menus to accommodate dietary restrictions. The ambiance, while busy, is described as 'cool,' and the restaurant appears to have a generally positive reputation for pre-theatre dining due to its quick service.

Concerns and Threads

The negative aspects of customer feedback primarily revolve around service-related issues and the ambiance of the restaurant. Guests have noted the restaurant is too crowded, which leads to a noisy environment not conducive to all dining experiences. The closely packed tables not only add to the noise and prevent intimate dining but also hinder the movement of staff and patrons. Reports of long wait times for drinks and inattentive service are consistent, with some guests having to ask multiple times for their orders or get up to solicit service. This lapse in service seems to be exacerbated during busy periods, suggesting a shortfall in managing peak times effectively. Additionally, customers note the undersized glasses for tap water and reluctant replenishment as minor but relevant service lapses. These recurring themes indicate that while the food might be a draw, the dining experience is marred by inefficiencies in service, affecting the overall satisfaction of some customers.

We visited during the festive Christmas period. The place was packed and pretty loud. Tables are very close to each other and you can barely walk in between them. Food was actually not bad! We ordered a set menu with their selection of raw fish, some rolls, skewers and some nigiris. Service was pretty average to be honest. Most likely would visit again to give it another try.

I do not recommend this restaurant, as there are many other great quality options available at even better prices elsewhere. The food used to be much better before! I won’t be returning to Sticks and Sushi. The service is terrible. It took them 45 minutes to bring our drinks. We had to send back the food multiple times because we were thirsty and needed to have something to drink before eating.

For my personal taste, way too crowded! Based on the pictures on their website, I was expecting a more intimate atmosphere, but unfortunately it was a very big and crowded (hence noisy) place. The fact it was very busy was also noticeable for the service. Entered at 19:15, finally got my drink at 19:50 after asking 3 times! The food was OK, although it looks way better than it tastes. Had better sushi at a more reasonable price. Dietary restrictions: After asking the waitress, our menu was adjusted because of dietary restrictions.
