York Hall Leisure Centre's customer reviews analysis

York Hall Leisure Centre presents a mixed overall company reputation according to the recent reviews. Positive feedback highlights the value provided by the monthly membership and appreciation for specific community-centric offerings such as the women-only swimming evening. However, there are significant pain points that have consistently dampened customer experiences, predominantly around the state of the facilities and service quality. There's frequent mention of issues such as poor maintenance of the gym and spa, unhelpful staff, and subpar organization during events. For instance, customers report lack of proper cleanliness, broken equipment, and a need for better customer support and guidance. Additionally, the lack of proper amenities such as towels in the sauna and the absence of basics like a working sound system during events have been noted as detractors from what could otherwise be a variety of enjoyable experiences.

Positive Feedback

York Hall Leisure Centre has been commended for certain aspects of customer service and facilities. The centre's commitment to inclusive events, notably a weekly women-only swimming session, has been appreciated and is seen as a valuable community service. In terms of affordability, the swimming lessons and the value offered by the monthly membership have been positively received. Individual staff members, like Ismail from the reception, have been acknowledged for their informative and helpful service, contributing positively to customer satisfaction. Additionally, the centre's location is conveniently close to a tube station, making it accessible for event attendees and regular visitors. Cleanliness in certain areas, such as the toilets during busy events, has also been mentioned as satisfactory.

Concerns and Threads

The reviews for York Hall Leisure Centre reveal several areas of concern that potential customers should be aware of. The spa and gym facilities have been described as unsatisfactory, with reports of fundamental issues such as inadequate changing rooms, temperature control problems, and equipment often being out of service. There is also a lack of proper amenities and a noted absence of customer orientation, such as unclear signage and inadequate staff engagement. Spa experiences have been marred by a lack of air filtration and what some feel is an overhasty closure. Additional frustrations include an absence of jacuzzis, steam rooms not being operational, and poor event management, evidenced by overpricing at the bar and technical difficulties in audio systems during shows. What ought to be a welcoming and professional environment has been perceived by some as lackluster and may result in limited duration of use and repeated customer dissatisfaction.

Old but astonishing and in its own way beautiful centre. Spa very good, though lack of signage means visitors do not use it appropriately. No towels used in sauna, slippers inside sauna, people jumping into cold bath without prior showering off of sweat. These things could be easily solved. Fro t reception (not spa) could be more welcoming and friendly.

Awful facilities. Freezing changing rooms, only hot scorching water at the taps in men’s changing rooms, big lockers are never available, machines are often out of use, leaks all over the place, cleaning is under any decent standards.

The monthly membership is great value for the equipment, pool and classes you get access to. Their commitment to the once a week women only swimming evening (same day every week, at the same time) is brilliant and makes it a true community asset.
