The Little Yang Sing's customer reviews analysis

The Little Yang Sing's reputation is buttressed by positive feedback that highlights the excellence in both its food offerings and service. Customers frequently commend the quality of the menu items, particularly the crispy duck and dim sum, as well as the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. There is a recurring appreciation for the generous portion sizes and special note is made of the chow mein and the Chrysanthemum buffet. The ambiance of the restaurant contributes positively to the dining experience, though there is some criticism regarding the perception of hurried service and staff behavior perceived as over-attentive. Some customers also note the prices as being on the higher side, likening them to London's dining scene. A minor inconsistency in the delivery of orders was mentioned, but such instances are typically met with prompt resolution. Overall, the restaurant's reputation is predominantly upheld by its culinary excellence and strong service ethos, creating a foundation for a solid customer experience.

Positive Feedback

Positive aspects of The Little Yang Sing center around its culinary delights and service quality. The vegetable chow mein, crispy duck, and a selection of dim sum are particular customer favorites, underpinning the establishment's reputation for quality food. The generous portion sizes ensure customer satisfaction and offer value as leftovers can be taken home. Service is another key strength, with staff members often receiving praise for their attentive and professional demeanor, as well as for service elements such as the diligent topping up of water. Customers feel welcomed and valued, which is accentuated by a dining atmosphere conducive to various social arrangements, whether they be familial, friendly, or romantic. The restaurant's ambiance is also described as inviting, with a clean and fresh decor that enhances the overall dining experience.

Concerns and Threads

Despite many positive feedback, The Little Yang Sing faces criticisms that can be pivotal for prospective customers. Some customers have experienced service-related issues such as feeling rushed due to the overzealous clearing of plates and frequent check-ins by the staff. Additionally, pricing has been called into question, with some diners finding the meal costs to be steep, comparable to higher-end dining locations in London. There have also been instances of order inaccuracies, and while swiftly addressed, these moments can detract from the dining experience. Moreover, the presence of delivery drivers in the doorway, perceived by some as a minor nuisance, can affect initial impressions and potentially deter would-be diners. A few customers have found certain dishes, like the beef wrap and salt and pepper chips, to be somewhat unremarkable or different from expectations.

Best vegetable chow mein I’ve ever had! Service was amazing too, we arrived super late and they stayed open for us and were really attentive. 10/10 recommend Portions were also big so I took home the leftovers Salt and pepper chips were a bit weird though, they were almost sugary, not bad just different.

Chrysanthemum buffet was the banquet we ordered. Brilliant table service including shredding of duck and filleting the fish. Staff were excellent and professional. All food was piping hot and tasted delicious. Not sure on the beef wrap as the middle course though. Good drinks selection. Big portions and option of fork or chopsticks. Only off-putting thing is the delivery drivers sitting in the doorway we thought it was closed at first. The restaurant was very busy all through our time there. Vegetarian options: Full banquet option for 2 people and many individual dishes on the al a carte menus.

As a foodie with a fondness for China town in Manchester and a penchant for authentic Chinese cuisine, my experience at Little Yang Sing was a mix of highs and lows. Arriving as a solo diner on a business trip, I found myself sandwiched between two fellow solo diners. To my left, a disgruntled chap lamented about his hour-long wait without any food. However, the swift response of the manager, who promptly apologized and took action, impressed me. Opting for a selection of dim sum to start, followed by quarter crispy duck and spinach in sauce, my order arrived promptly, perhaps spurred on by the urgency created by the neighboring diner's complaint. The service, particularly from Lisa and Chris, was impeccable, with a dedicated water server ensuring my glass remained topped up throughout the meal. Reflecting on past visits, I reminisced about dining here during my university days in the late 90s when it was known as "Little Sister" or something akin. While the nostalgia was palpable, the similarity in prices to those in London left me slightly disappointed. Despite this, the overall experience at Little Yang Sing was positive, with its efficient service, delicious dishes, and a touch of nostalgia making it a place I would consider returning to, albeit with the caveat of managing expectations around pricing.
