Nest Pest Control's customer reviews analysis

Analysis of the most recent reviews for Nest Pest Control Washington DC reveals a mixed overall reputation with a few commendable practices and some concerning operational issues. Positive experiences reference effective extermination, professional behavior from technicians, and prompt service execution. Customers appreciate when technicians deal intricately with challenging situations (e.g., yellow jacket infestation requiring gutter removal), demonstrate expertise, and offer educational insights. However, a recurring theme of unreliability surfaces, with several complaints about missed appointments, lack of communication, and failure to follow up, particularly in situations requiring urgent attention. While some praise is given for successful pest eliminations, criticism arises from inadequate service under warranty, unaddressed pest recurrences, and unresolved issues despite payment -- all of which contribute to a portion of clients refusing to reuse or recommend the company's services.

Positive Feedback

Several positive highlights emerge from the customer feedback for Nest Pest Control Washington DC. Well-described instances point to the technicians' professionalism and expertise in handling various kinds of pests efficiently, often cited as friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking. Quick responsiveness and efficiency are frequently mentioned in contexts such as swift removal of hornet and yellow jacket nests -- with some customers experiencing same-day resolution. Additionally, proactive measures like caulking potential entry points and educating clients about pest behavior stand out. Flexible scheduling, inclusive of weekends, and a perception of reasonable pricing for certain services also contribute favorably to the company's image. The mention of a satisfactory monthly service for ongoing pest control suggests some clients find continuous value in their offerings.

Concerns and Threads

Despite numerous satisfactory engagements, Nest Pest Control Washington DC faces critical feedback on several fronts. A significant and detrimental aspect highlighted by customer dissatisfaction revolves around issues with scheduling and service reliability -- incidents of no-shows without prior notice or explanation, ineffective communication channels (unanswered calls, non-operational chat functions), and absence of follow-up as promised. Particularly notable is that such experiences have led to direct loss of business, with customers turning to other service providers. Additionally, there are reports of unresolved problems post-service, which is especially poignant for matters under warranty, affecting trust in the company's commitment to service efficacy and customer care. Clients have expressed frustration over continued pest activity and inadequate recourse, manifesting in statements of intent not to engage with the company again.

I had a yellow jacket infestation around my roofline. The technician had to remove my gutters and a wooden board to access the nest, so it was kind of a complicated job. He got the nest out, reattached everything, and caulked the roof so no more bees/wasps can make a nest there. He was very quick and efficient! He even swept up after he was done. Price was fairly reasonable when you factor in that the nest was difficult to access. I’m glad the yellow jackets are gone and I can enjoy my balcony again!

James called me right away when I submitted my service request online and it was later Wednesday night. We set up an appointment for Friday between 10am-1pm and the service people never showed up. I know they had my address because after james and I spoke Wednesday, he said he’d send me a text me as soon as we hung up to confirm my address and information. I didn’t get that text from him at first, so after 30 mins of waiting I tried calling him back (he didn’t pick up though) and so again submitted another online request, and then he called me back. He then sent me the confirm text. Then Friday, the guys hadn’t shown up. So I called James to see where the service guys were when they hadn’t arrived (the main customer service number wouldn’t pick up, the chat function didn’t work, and I submitted an email request but didn’t hear back). After about 10 mins, James connected me with Malik after james couldn’t confirm if I was on the schedule. Malik said I was on the schedule and I asked him if he’d have his service people call me to tell me when they’d arrive. They never called. They never came. I purposely didn’t go to my office today so that I could be home for the service people. I ended up booking with American pest for tomorrow. No more wasting my time on Nest. When I used them once in the past in DuPont, they didn’t arrive within the 3 hour time window then either. Save your time and go with more professional company. Oh and to make matters worse, I just got a bill from Nest for being a “no show” when the dude showed up hours later without ever even calling to say he’d be late!

Bottom line: said they would show up, didn't show up, didn't provide any notice or information until hours later. Called the company because of an issue with wildlife in a chimney - pretty urgent. Phone experience seemed positive and they promised to come out the next day early morning. It's a rental property so I wasn't on site, but afterwards I texted for an update and James told me he would check with the contractor (I didn't realize beforehand he was dealing with outside contractors, thought that there were real employees involved) - then nothing. Only after I heard from the tenants, six hours after the scheduled appointment, that nobody had showed up, I wrote James asking about what had happened. At that point he respond that the contractor had actually had a family emergency. No apology, no offer of future resolution - just, turns out there was a family emergency. I don't know what really happened - did the contractor truly have a family emergency that didn't come to the owner's attention until more than six hours after the first missed appointment, when I (the first appointment of the day) finally pointed out the absence? Did they just not put me on the schedule, decided to sleep in, forgot, couldn't find the address, took a more lucrative-seeming job? No idea. This place has generally good reviews (which is why I called in the first place) so I can't think this is typical, but I have zero information for how or why it happened. Perhaps this place just specializes in routine pest control and those clients don't care so much about reliability, but when you're talking about a mammal in your chimney you don't want to wait around on flaky contractors that don't show. Huge waste of time.
