I hope you're doing well. I wanted to provide some feedback about the cakes I recently purchased. I truly appreciate the effort put into the presentation, but I was a bit disappointed with the cakes themselves. It seems there might have been an issue with their freshness or preparation. I noticed that the cakes appeared to be either stale, overcooked, or possibly both. For instance, the carrot cake, which I expected to have cream cheese frosting, had a plain frosting instead. Additionally, the cake itself was quite dry and lacked the usual moisture that makes carrot cake so delightful. The texture was crumbly, and it seemed to lack the usual moistness that comes from using oil in the recipe. Similarly, the courgette cake seemed to have a minimal amount of courgette, almost unnoticeable compared to what I typically expect from a cake with this ingredient. The grated courgette was finer than usual and didn't provide the anticipated texture. While I understand that these things can happen from time to time, I wanted to share my experience as it might impact the overall impression of your cakes and potentially affect future customers. I truly believe that with a few adjustments, your cakes could garner even better reviews and encourage repeat business. Overall disappointing experience.The set up is beautiful and service was friendly. I was very cold where I was seated which dampened the experience for me a bit. Food was a disappointment especially for the price. I ordered the espresso con panna and felt the coffee was quite bitter. My cup was dirty which I have never experienced before. I ordered the salt beef with hash browns.Absolutely no seasoning except on the hash browns which was was the only saving grace of the dish.My beef had quite a bit of fat on it.My one poached egg was perfect but the other's yolk was not runny as it should be and the whole dish was cold. Overall a tepid experience.I would want to try the place again in the summer as it is actually pretty cool as an alternate work area for a few hours and has high ceilings, lot of natural light and power points!
