A Catastrophic Experience - Avoid at All Costs
I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with Lovespace has compelled me to share this as a warning to others. This has been, without exaggeration, the worst service experience I’ve ever had. If you are even remotely considering using them — don’t. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the irreparable damage.
1. Collection Disaster
Last summer, I scheduled my collection the day before I was due to vacate my accommodation. I had already booked all transport and planned everything down to the hour. Lovespace, however, failed to show up — not just on the scheduled day, but two days late. I called them repeatedly: the day before, the day of, and the day after. Their excuse? “We use an external partner, Parcelforce Worldwide, so it’s out of our control.”
Out of your control? You’re the service I booked. You’re the company I paid. If it weren’t for the kindness of my accommodation’s reception staff, my parcels would’ve been left on the street. This alone should’ve been a red flag — and I deeply regret not switching companies then and there.
2. Delivery Nightmare
The delivery was even worse. I paid extra to have my belongings arrive on the exact day I moved into my new flat. Instead? They showed up six days later.
What followed was 15+ phone calls between Lovespace and Parcelforce, each blaming the other. I was told the delivery depot was unreachable and that no one — neither company — had the ability to contact them. My tracking updates were absurd: “The addressee requested a delay” and “The addressee requested to collect the parcels.” Absolutely false. Why on earth would I delay delivery or collect them myself?
The result? I had to spend two days off work, buy essential supplies like bed sheets, pillows, and toiletries, and endure a complete mental breakdown from the sheer helplessness of the situation. When my boxes finally arrived, I had to chase the delivery driver down the street as he was about to leave, apparently unable to “find” my apartment. If I hadn’t been watching out the window all day, he would’ve driven off without even attempting a proper delivery.
3. Damaged Belongings
You’d think this nightmare ended once I had my boxes in hand. Not even close. Despite using double-walled boxes as per Lovespace’s instructions and wrapping my fragile items in three layers of bubble wrap and clothes, I opened the boxes to find:
- My lamp shattered
- Nearly all my ceramic mugs and plates smashed to pieces
It’s as if they rolled the boxes down the motorway or used them for football practice. The lack of care is heartbreaking.
When I contacted Lovespace, I was told to fill out a damage claims form within 48 hours — and that they’d respond in two weeks (ironic indeed). It’s now been over four business weeks and still no reply. Their indifference is staggering.
4. Conclusion: A Company That Fails at Its Only Job
Let’s be clear: this is a company whose sole job is to collect, store, and deliver items safely. And they failed at every single stage. Rather than take responsibility, they blame everything on their external partners and push their own customers to chase those partners for answers. That’s not just poor service — it’s unethical. The physical damage to my belongings, the financial cost of replacing essentials, and the emotional toll this has taken on me cannot be overstated. I’ve never encountered a more unprofessional, disorganised, and careless company.
Please, do not be fooled by the cheerful posters you might see in your accommodation halls. Lovespace is a logistical nightmare and a customer service black hole. There are many other storage companies out there — use literally anyone else.
