The Meadows is one of the most favourite place in Edinburgh. Lovely green scenery before autumn make it perfect moment as I came. There are several playgrounds with quite a complete choice of rides. Equipped with super wide picnic area, it is a perfect place for family or community activities. I feel like bringing this place back to my hometown.

The "Edinburgh Meadows" is a wonderfully large wide open natural space for the people of Edinburgh - where residents and visitors are welcome to stroll, jog, play short-hole golf, buy coffee and snack, or picnic (please protect the grass from disposable BBQs). Popular with dog walkers and people just enjoying the grass, the mature trees changing colours through the seasons and those that like star-gazing at dusk. Whether day-time or evening The Olde Golf Tavern adjacent to the links short-hole golf provides refreshments and meals to order with seating inside and outside. Playground: Kids playground including kids' ground-level trampolines (parental participation welcome) are in the Meadows near Glengyle Terrace (East side) and others near the Causewayside end (West Side). Restrooms: Porta-cabin rest-rooms / toilets located in the central area. Dog-friendliness: The Meadows is popular fit dog walking. Dog owners should be aware that a large proportion of the grassy areas are used for the short-hole golf course (aka "pitch and putt" ) available for no charge if you bring your own clubs and balls, and organised team games such as cricket, football, volley-ball and social Frisby throwing etc. which dog walkers should avoid and/or clean up after your dog whenever a poo has been deposited. Picnic area: Visitors to the park may use any of the picnic tables available. Coffee and snacks maybe available from the caravans located on the north side near "Middle Meadow Walk" path.

Great space so close to the city centre, very friendly and good for kids (2 different parks) and sports. Lovely all year round, autumn and spring are my favourite though. Lots of pathways of variable maintenance levels, which are mainly for walking or running but there are also cycle paths
