Headingley Hall's customer reviews analysis

The overall reputation of Headingley Hall appears to be mixed based on the variety of customer experiences reported. Several reviews express deep concern over the care quality and staff responsiveness, shedding light on potential systemic issues regarding resident treatment and safety. Specifically, complaints about negligence with an individual who encountered difficulty during a walk, and disturbing discoveries in a deceased resident's room, infer a troubling lack of proper care and attentiveness. Conversely, there are reviews that paint a more positive image, comparing the facilities to a '5-star hotel' and describing the staff as 'friendly and professional'. These conflicting accounts suggest inconsistency in the services provided by Headingley Hall, highlighting the importance for prospective clients to carry out thorough personal assessments before entrusting this establishment with the care of their loved ones.

Positive Feedback

Certain testimonials for Headingley Hall are highly favorable, portraying it as an exemplary care facility. Individuals liken it to a prestigious '5-star hotel', underlining the high standards of cleanliness and the sophisticated environment. The presence of staff around the clock contributes to a secure atmosphere where residents' needs are potentially catered to continuously. Visits by friends and relatives have elicited remarks on the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff encountered. These aspects form the foundation of positive experiences and the prevailing sense of satisfaction among some clientele, indicating that for certain residents and their families, Headingley Hall meets if not exceeds their expectations for a care home.

Concerns and Threads

Amidst the feedback for Headingley Hall, several deeply concerning reviews stand out. The most alarming include accounts of possibly systemic negligence, such as the story of a resident who received no aid after a fall during an unsupervised walk and an incident involving the discovery of expired food in a deceased resident's room. These incidents signify potential health hazards and a troubling absence of day-to-day care. Furthermore, there are claims of indifference and rudeness from the staff, which could indicate issues with staff training and retention. The disciplinary action taken against an employee supposedly due to illness further suggests a workplace environment that may not value staff welfare, potentially impacting the quality of care afforded to residents.

If you are somebody thinking to send your loved ones there, I would say think twice. Had my grandma there, she did not like it for many good reasons. Her last words were "this is a horrible place and people are evil". She was right, when we went to clear her room after death, we found that fridge had expired chocolates and a two year old half-eaten cake which the staff did not bother to clean. I took pictures, please see attached. They check all the boxes and paperwork and have very nice buildings etc, but they do not care. The response rate is very slow and the only thing they care about is the money. Some lower staff members are nice but they do not stay there too long. If you complain about anything they deny it. If somebody has dementia, you can send them there to die but if somebody is conscious and can feel, then it is hell. The choice is yours if you want to send your loved ones there are not, but after a lot of analysis and observation, I am saying this is a bad place and do not send anybody there if you care.

Today I met a gentleman who was a resident and had fallen whilst out for a walk, after he got up he called Headingley hall multiple times to ask for someone to come and help him get back however, every time he called the phone went to voicemail. He left a message each time asking for someone to come and help him and told them the road we were on, no one called back or came to help. We walked back to Headingley hall and on the way back he nearly fell over multiple times as he had poor balance and clearly should not have been left walking around on his own. After about a hour of walking we arrived at Headingley hall where the staff were rude and completely blanked me, I couldn’t help but think how disappointed I would feel if he was my grandad or dad and I was paying someone to take care of him and that’s how he was treated. They must’ve seen the message and just couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it, if you care about someone at all don’t send them here look elsewhere.

The care offered here is second to none. They are taking such good care of my family, it is like a 5 star hotel, with staff around 24/7 - I wouldn't look anywhere else!
