Amalia's customer reviews analysis

The overall reputation of Amalia - Italian Restaurant in Liverpool is generally positive. The majority of customers report a satisfactory dining experience, praising the quality of food, the variety in the menu, and the timely service. Awards for pizza over the previous years add to the restaurant's acclaim, solidifying its status as a reputable dining spot. However, there are isolated incidents of service mishaps such as the wrong wine being served without first being presented to the customer, and the restaurant's inability to fulfill a dessert pre-order due to the item selling out. Another noted service gap includes the kitchen's failure to maintain authentic 'al dente' pasta during busy hours, which suggests a potential compromise on the traditional Italian culinary standards. The atmosphere is frequently described as inviting and energetic, with mentions of live music and family-friendly vibes. Despite mostly excellent feedback, these instances highlight areas where service consistency could be improved.

Positive Feedback

Positive feedback for Amalia - Italian Restaurant focuses heavily on the high-quality Italian cuisine, particularly the award-winning pizzas and robust menu offerings with various options, including a Gorgonzola pizza that was highlighted as delicious. Customers appreciate the well-cooked meals, and the Calzone challenge provides a unique and engaging dining experience. The restaurant also receives commendations for its friendly staff and the relaxing ambiance enhanced by live music and suitable for both indoor and outdoor dining. The venue is characterized as kid-friendly, and guests appreciate the tasteful decor, which includes football memorabilia, as well as the efficient service that contributes to a great overall dining experience.

Concerns and Threads

While most experiences at Amalia - Italian Restaurant are positive, there are some recurring issues related to service and food preparation. Customers have experienced service oversights, such as being served the wrong wine without verification and facing sold-out desserts even after indicating early interest. Additionally, some diners reported that pastas were overcooked and not prepared 'al dente', diverging from authentic Italian standards. Moreover, the restaurant can become noisy and loud, particularly when hosting parties, which may detract from the dining experience for some guests. Such feedback underscores the importance of consistency in service and food quality even during peak hours.

Good service with some tasty food. Definitely a place to gather with friends for a special occassion. The only thing I can complain about is that the waitress who brought our wine opened it without showing it to us first. It wasn’t until she walked away and we realized it wasn’t even the right wine that we ordered. It was still delicious, but not what we asked for. Calamari was good and so was the pasta. Kids dessert comes in a cute ice cream cup.

Could not recommend this place enough! We arrived at about 18:00 looking for a meal and were seated after a short wait. Menu is full of options — I’d have gone with a margherita but there was this Gorgonzola pizza that tempted me, and I’m glad I chose it! Delicious. Food came quickly, service was great, overall a very good night

Amalia is a lovely Italian restaurant with nice staff and good food. Would highly recommend booking in advance as it does get busy. We got a table indoors on the ground floor. For summer, they have loads of outdoor sitting to enjoy the loveky weather. The staff were very nice and helpful, our meals arrived on time and were cooked to perfection. If you are up for a big challenge, I would recommend you take the Calzone challenge (it's massive and could feed 3 people) - if you get to finish it alone within 1hr, you get it for free..... Have fun trying :-) All in all, I would highly recommend a visit to Amalia if you are in Liverpool City Centre for a great Italian meal. They have won awards for their pizza over the last few years ( Hope to try it sometime soon)
