The Skyliner's customer reviews analysis

The Skyliner receives a mixture of positive and negative feedback, influencing its overall company reputation. Positive comments frequently highlight the friendly and attentive staff, cleanliness of the restaurant, and the size and quality of the food portions. The atmosphere and design of the restaurant, as well as special accommodations such as easy access for those with mobility constraints, are also praised. Conversely, there are recurring grievances about the inconsistency in food quality, particularly the preparation and size of the fish and chips. Complaints about the taste of certain condiments and beverages, like the malt vinegar and dandelion and burdock drink, point towards a potential issue with some menu items. Some customers have noticed a decline in quality over time, suggesting that past reputation may not be indicative of the current experience. The negative experiences seem to largely come from discrepancies in food preparation and a perceived reduction in portion sizes, which could impact customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Positive Feedback

Many customers have positively commented on the efficient service and friendly staff at The Skyliner, often mentioning the pleasurable interaction with personnel as a highlight of their visit. The restaurant's cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere are consistently acknowledged, enhancing the dining experience. The accessibility features such as the slope entrance and handrails for those with poor mobility receive commendation. Portion sizes, particularly the large offers, are well-received when consistent, and some customers feel they receive good value for their money. The quality of the food, especially when it meets expectations, is described as excellent, with much appreciation for the crispy batter and well-cooked fish. Overall, customer satisfaction is influenced positively by these aspects. Even first-time visitors are compelled to attest to the restaurant's good reputation, considering it one of the best in its locale.

Concerns and Threads

On the downside, The Skyliner faces customer dissatisfaction chiefly with the inconsistency in food quality. Recent reviews indicate a decline in the standard that previous patrons had come to expect, with particular references to soggy batter, fish not drained properly, and mediocre chips. There are also mentions of smaller portion sizes and substandard taste in some menu items. These criticisms highlight a potentially worrying trend in quality reduction, which could dissuade repeat business. Additionally, the absence of popular menu options such as cod may disappoint certain customers. The negative customer experiences emphasize the need for The Skyliner to address these quality and consistency issues to maintain reputation and sustain customer loyalty.

Well this was a pleasant surprise. Attended around 7pm, parked outside and was pretty busy inside. Order taken straight away and waited while order was cooked fresh. Chatty and friendly staff. Portion sizes were excellent and got plenty of scraps. Fish was thick and tasty, chips were thick and not greasy. Very tasty and enjoyable meal. Not sure how it compares locally price wise but it was very reasonable.

Visited The Skyliner Leeds, 3/5 from me. We did share a portion of chips, so don’t think that was the full portion. dandelion and burdock was absolutely terrible, anyone had that before? . Fish was average size with nice batter. Curry and peas nice also. Fish had a lot oil not drained correctly and chips little hard £30.60. NOTE NO COD ON MENU

Called here after Xmas shopping for a chippy lunch. While waiting a gentleman came in kicking off about the quality of his fish and chips and said we’re best not eating here. I wish I’d listened to him! After getting home and opening up the fish, the batter, what little there was on the fish was soggy and not edible and chip’s mediocre. The curry sauce poor too. This place was great a few years back, but clearly there is a quality issue here atm. Probably the worst chippy lunch I’ve had in as long as I can remember. Steer clear as there are far better other chip shops in area.
