I recently had the unfortunate experience of using Restland Funeral Home for my fathers cremation. To say that I was disappointed and dissatisfied with their services would be an understatement. I called Restland to get a quote on the cremation and I was asked what my budget was. I have never had to make the arrangements for something like this, and just did a quick google search on the cost of cremation services. And based off the way I was treated, it made it clear that they were only interested in making a profit rather than providing quality services. The staff at Restland Funeral Home seemed disinterested and unprofessional. They were not very responsive to my inquiries and did not seem to have a sense of empathy towards our loss. It almost felt like they were going through the motions without any genuine care or concern. I would ask a question in an email, and it would take 2-3 days to receive a response. I also tried to contact my funeral director by work and cell phone and could not reach her. Finally, I expressed my frustration about the responses because I received a "Per my email above" email. And the manager did contact me AFTER I picked up my fathers remains. But the most unforgivable aspect of our experience with Restland Funeral Home was their lack of respect about my fathers ashes. There was ash left on the outside of his urn and on the table after we went through the paperwork that was necessary. They did offer to pay for the permanent urn my father was placed in. Overall, my experience with Restland Funeral Home was extremely disappointing and I would not recommend their services to anyone. It is a shame that during such a difficult time, we had to deal with such incompetence and lack of compassion. I urge others to avoid this funeral home and find a more reputable and caring establishment for their loved ones.
