Lavendou Bistro Provencal's customer reviews analysis

Lavendou Bistro Provincial has garnered a reputation for offering an authentic French dining experience with generally positive customer feedback. The atmosphere is frequently described as charming and akin to a French bistro, contributing positively to the overall ambiance. The culinary offerings, particularly noted are the Dover Sole, French onion soup, and duck, alongside various other dishes, receive acclaim for their flavors and sizeable portions. However, there are indications of inconsistency in service, specifically regarding attentiveness to diners' needs, such as timely communication about menu availability and promptness in refilling teapots. The staff, while often described as friendly and helpful, occasionally seem to struggle during peak hours, leading to noted wait times. A recurrent theme is the necessity of reservations due to the restaurant's popularity. The pricing is mentioned as high, which is typically expected of French cuisine, yet some customers find the portion sizes may not fully justify the cost. Decor and ambience emerge as bifurcated themes; while some celebrate the decor for its authenticity, others find it too dark or the dining space cramped.

Positive Feedback

Positive aspects of Lavendou Bistro Provincial predominantly highlight the quality and authenticity of the food. Patrons frequently praise the menu for its flavorful dishes, including standout items such as French onion soup, Dover Sole, lamb chops, and traditional escargot. The generous portions of entrees receive appreciation, as they contribute to the satisfaction of diners. The waiting staff is consistently acknowledged for their attentive and friendly demeanor when the restaurant is not overly busy. The restaurant setting is frequently described as embodying a true French bistro charm, enhancing the customer's dining experience. Parking is conveniently mentioned as ample and the location receives a favorable mention for its neighborhood setting, adding to the appeal for local diners.

Concerns and Threads

Regarding service, there appears to be a pattern of irregularities, especially during busy periods, which leads to customer dissatisfaction. During peak times, customers notice a drop in the attentiveness of the staff, experiencing delays in services such as refills and communication mishaps, including informing customers about the availability of popular menu items like souffles. In some cases, customers find the decor too dark and the restaurant seating cramped, which detracts from the dining experience. Additionally, some patrons consider the menu options limited and suggest an expansion could enhance the dining experience. Despite the high regard for the quality of the food, certain customers feel the price does not always match the portion size or the overall value provided.

7pm dinner for a birthday celebration. Food was fantastic. We enjoyed everything we ordered. When it came to dessert, we all wanted souffle. The server failed to communicate they stopped serving souffle at a certain time. This was a huge disappointment. Took one star off because of the lack of communication. We settled for creme brulee, which was good, but not what the party wanted.

The servers are always so nice and attentive here and we love the atmosphere...Food choices just divine..husband started with onion soup and then had the Duck I had the caesar salad and the Dover Sole...Wow!!! The appetizers were just the right size and the entrees were large portions and the food as always was incredible! The Dover Sole is my all time favorite fish and it's just amazing here..the duck was also wonderful! Had an excellent bottle of wine too..Can't say enough good things and so love it's in our neighborhood and lots of easy parking spots! Parking: Strip mall parking lots of spots

Food off the menu was good. Not the best given the price tag. High tea was avg. Snacks were very avg. They need to keep refilling the tea pot. They don't stop by and check on you until you flag someone and ask them to refill. Pasta and French onion soup were good. Portions will be small (its a French restaurant). Felt too cramped and decor was too dark/gloomy. Parking: It is in a strip mall.
