Ming Chen Clinics's customer reviews analysis

Ming Chen Clinics have generally garnered positive reactions from its clientele, endorsing the establishment's expertise in acupuncture and related treatments. A recurring theme in the reviews is the positive impact of treatments for various physical ailments, from chronic ankle issues to sciatic pain and muscle tightness. Ming and her team, especially highlighted colleague Cathy Waddell, receive commendation for their professionalism and tangible results, often where other medical interventions had failed. However, one serious concern arises from a customer's report of inappropriate handling of mental health issues by a practitioner named Ran, which if accurate, points to a need for better acknowledgment and treatment of such conditions within the clinic.

Positive Feedback

Customers of Ming Chen Clinics report highly effective treatments for a range of physical health issues, with Ming herself being described as 'the real deal' and a 'master of the acupuncture needles'. The treatments, including acupuncture, cupping, massage, and herbs, are noted for their holistic approach and personalized care, often producing significant improvements where traditional medicine fell short. Specifically, instances of healing chronic ankle problems, navigating menopause comfortably, alleviating sciatic pain, and resolving stomach issues are cited as examples of the clinic's successes. Ming's robust reputation is complemented by practitioners like Cathy Waddell, who is praised for her massage therapy that significantly reduced back muscle trauma for a patient.

Concerns and Threads

Despite numerous positive testimonials, Ming Chen Clinics’ reputation is not without blemish. A severe criticism comes from a patient who sought acupuncture for bipolar depression and felt their concerns and condition were trivialized by practitioner Ran. This incident, involving a disregard for mental illnesses and subsequent unsatisfactory treatment, suggests an area where Ming Chen Clinics could potentially improve. Attention to the mental health training of their practitioners and sensitivity towards patients' psychological concerns would be advisable to ensure an inclusive treatment environment that caters to both physical and mental well-being.

Caution for those seeking acupuncture for mental health: I booked an appointment to try acupuncture as a supplemental treatment for a current episode of bipolar depression as my aunt with the same condition swore by acupuncture. I booked with Ran and in our initial consultation conversation right before the treatment began, she dismissed my concerns and conditions, went on about how she essentially doesn't believe in mental illnesses, equated them to general problems that everyone gets day to day, and that my professionally diagnosed bipolar disorder I've had for a DECADE is probably caused by every day stress, hormones from periods (which I don't have), and maybe even the meds I take for it. Then she decided all I needed was to "relax" and that we'll do acupuncture to "relax". I felt very anxious, but I'd already booked the appointment and had to pay so I decided it's easier just to give it a go. I had the session (not relaxing for me) and felt the exact same during, afterwards, and days later and had a couple bruises to boot. I will say the receptionist Julie was lovely and Ran seemed nice enough if you ignore the harmful mental health/illness denial and ignorance. Possibly worth a go for physical health issues but definitely NOT for any mental - ignore the website listing a few mental health issues they can "help" with.

I had massive problems with my ankle and physiotherapists could not help me … tried for years. Age 27 Ming helped me (over a lot of sessions) and 3 decades later my ankle has been as good as gold. Now aged 57 She truly is the real deal.

I have known Ming for many years and she is an excellent practitioner. Acupuncture was of great benefit to me during the menopause - (infact I sailed through it with literary no problems or symptoms) , and I put that firmly down to my monthly treatments from Ming. I also found acupuncture very good for sciatic. I remember visiting Ming in great pain and walking out an hour later literally pain free! I see her on a regular basis and I feel that keeps me healthier and happier!
